University of the Pacific Course Credit Information

This is the link to sign up for credit through the University of the Pacific AFTER completing a course.

Choose your Course.  Choose the number of credits (1-3).  Pay.

    • 1 credit = 15 hours of webinars + 15 hours of outside work
    • 2 credits = 30 hours of webinars + 15 hours of outside work
    • 3 credits = 45 hours of webinars  + 15 hours of outside work

For example, if you already completed the CISOS Teacher Webinar course in 2020, register for EDUP 9168.  If you plan to take a language class, you will register for credit on the last day of the class.  The course number is provided on the last day of class along with a certificate of completion.

Synchronous and Asynchronous Distance Learning with Comprehension-Based Communicative Language Teaching

  • Course Description:
    A series of webinars for language teachers will minimal background in distance learning technology, transitioning to immediate application of online teaching and distance learning strategies.  Course is offered by experienced Comprehension-Based teachers and presenters.
  • Course Objectives:
    Symbiotic integration of strategies that support language acquisition with technology synchronously or asynchronously.  Language teachers should be able to maintain a focus on providing comprehensible input, creating communicative opportunities and imperfectly but immediately utilizing technology to create lesson plans and content to teach classes using a variety of platforms and applications.

  • Course Expectations
    Participants will combine webinars and independent work creating corresponding lesson plans and learning to use technological tools to track hours on the course list. 
  • Methods of Evaluation
    List of tracked hours and completed Zoom or Teachable courses and application of created lesson plans to a shared Google Drive.  Participants should show how what was learned can be applied to teaching in the form of practical, useable content and organizational systems, charts or lists.

Turn in your completed checklist, including hours of outside work before submitting the University credit form for a grade and the course number.  Do NOT complete your credit card information until after you have a grade and course number.
