Updates to mini-stories
As the co-author of the book Yo sé cómo hacerlo with Joan Soriano and a Spanish teacher (Karen Rowan) I compiled all of the resources I used to teach. Though teachers may not need all of this content and may choose not to teach students how to dance Bachata, there are demo videos and instructional videos included. Links to Google maps for the places mentioned in the book and background on the afro-latino roots are already compiled for you. If you choose to use the book as an independent study, there are also videos of full length classes with guest speakers from the Dominican Republic and interviews with the artist, Joan Soriano. Content will also continue to be uploaded, written and updated. Some of this content can be found online. That information is gathered for your convenience. The 7 hours of class videos are from a Fluency Fast class. We’ve never done a Teacher’s Guide like this. It’s more than a backward plan. We hope that something in this content will inspire you and your students to listen to Joan Soriano’s music and learn more about the authentic music and dance that is the heartbeat of the Dominican Republic.
The price for the videos as an independent study course is $150.00. As teaching materials for Spanish teachers they have been reduced to a reasonable Teacher’s Guide price. The license and access are per teacher, not per district. Log in access cannot be shared. Videos can be shown in class or watched inside the teacher account by individual students in classes. Additional log ins require additional purchases. If a school wants a license for individual log in access for multiple students, please contact us.
