Don Quixote: El último caballero, by Karen Rowan, is based on Don Quijote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. It is a simplified version for English language learners and children of what is considered to be the first Modern Novel and is also still the number one best selling novel of all time in any language.
It contains the universal theme of reality vs. illusion. If we lose our dreams, what else do we have? Does seeing things that others do not or seeing the best in people make us crazy or sane?
But it’s also a funny little children’s story, read by Chet Sisk, a professional voice artist, actor, speaker and author. Listen to this audio with your students as they read along with copies of the reader, Don Quixote: El último caballero, also available on this website.
