Session Description

Some say you can’t study for a proficiency test. In this interactive session, attendees acquire strategies based on what language educators did at the start, during the semester, and just before the STAMP 4S testing to prepare students to maximize proficiency test performance. Attendees will leave with applicable resources to use immediately.

How do students decode comprehensible input? What makes one situation comprehensible, and another ambiguous? This session explores the higher-level thinking tasks involved as students attempt to comprehend input in the Target Language. Subsequently, the session touches on what teachers can do to mitigate ambiguity in their target language CI.
