Fluency Fast Teachers
Leslie Davison
Leslie
Davison has been teaching Spanish since 1994. She started using
TPRS almost 10 years ago and is amazed at the results she has had
with a variety of ages and levels. One student from a recent class
commented: I never thought my 60 year-old brain could learn another
language so easily.
Leslie brings enthusiasm, humor and great energy to every class
she teaches. Her knowledge of the Spanish language and culture is
vast due to living in Spain, Mexico, and Honduras. She has also
traveled through Chile, Venezuela, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and the
Dominican
Republic.
Originally from Michigan, Leslie graduated from the University
of Michigan with a degree in Communications. She also holds a degree
in Spanish from Eastern Michigan University. She completed her Masters
in Computers in Education from Lesley College and is a National
Board Certified Teacher in World Languages Other than English.
Leslie presents at conferences around the country and gives workshops
on TPRS, Dual Immersion and Technology in the World
Language classroom. She is very interested in the use of Social
Networks and how Web 2.0 tools can better help students acquire
a
language. Leslies sessions have been titled All Star
and she was just recently awarded a Program Leadership award at
the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers Conference.
Currently, Leslie is busy as the Dual Immersion Coordinator and a Spanish Teacher at Dillon Valley Elementary Dual Language Academy. She also enjoys teaching adult courses at Colorado Mountain College.
Leslie is our newest Fluency Fast teacher and will begin teaching Spanish classes in August after the Fluency Fast Instructor training.
